About & methodology

A little curiosity.
A clear result.

Logitally is a collection of free browser-based cognitive challenges for personal practice and curiosity. You can try every test without creating an account.

What the tests ask you to do

  • Photographic memory: recreate briefly shown patterns of highlighted tiles. The name does not mean the task can prove literal photographic memory.
  • Working memory: recall digit sequences in forward or backward order.
  • Abstract reasoning: choose the next frame in a sequence of shapes, then review its changing rules.
  • Reaction time: respond to a visual signal and see your recorded time in milliseconds.
  • Click speed: click as fast as you can before a timer runs out and see your clicks per second.
  • Spacebar counter: press the spacebar as often as you can in a set time.
  • Schulte table: find scattered numbers in order on a grid, against the clock.
  • Trail making: connect circles in order, first numbers, then numbers and letters in turn.
  • Stroop: name the ink color of a word and see how much a mismatched word slows you down.

How scores are calculated

Scores come directly from the task: the largest recalled pattern, the longest correctly recalled digit sequence, the number of solved puzzles out of twelve, an average response time, a count of presses, a search time in seconds, or the difference between two kinds of trial. Each test explains its rules and scoring on its own page.

We do not convert scores into IQ values, percentiles, age equivalents, or clinical labels. The tests have not been standardized against a representative population, and there is no universal passing score.

How challenges are generated

Memory patterns and digit sequences are generated in your browser. Abstract reasoning puzzles are built from rules that change attributes such as count, rotation, fill, and position. The results explain the rules used in each sequence. Reaction time rounds vary the waiting interval so there is no fixed countdown to follow.

Schulte tables are shuffled, trail making layouts are drawn fresh, and Stroop trials come in a new order on every run.

A new run generates new task material. Individual patterns, digits, shapes, or rules can recur; a fresh run is not a guarantee that every item is unique.

What affects a result

Use the same test mode and a similar setup when comparing your own scores. A timed reasoning run and an untimed run are different tasks. Forward and backward digit recall are also different tasks.

Reaction time measurements include delay from the browser, screen, and input device. We do not calibrate or subtract that delay. These scores are useful for exploring the task on your setup, but they are not laboratory measurements.

The same is true of the other timed tests, from click speed to the Stroop test: compare results on the same device and with the same settings.

Privacy and limitations

Your answers and scores stay in your browser for the current visit. Google Analytics records usage events automatically on the production site. See our privacy information for details.

The challenges are not medical assessments, official aptitude exams, or tools for employment or educational selection. Read the terms and limitations before relying on any result.
